As we are starting the plans for the annual auction and gala for Thompson Foundation for Autism’s 2017 event (SAVE THE DATE FOR OCTOBER 20!) we reminisce about the past few years working with this amazing organization!
On May 5, 2016 the Four Seasons Hotel hosted “It’s in the Cards” Charity Event and Auction. Co-chaired by Matt Carpenter and his wife Mackenzie, the Thompson Foundation raises awareness, support, and strength for the children and families affected by autism.
Matt Carpenter signed baseball.
The Cardinals players were great “sports” as they signed baseballs for the quests at the event!

Speaker Debbie Monterrey, KMOX Co-Host of Total Information AM, welcomed all of the guests as dinner began. Debbie Monterrey has won many awards for her outstanding job as a radio personal. She has won five regional Edward R. Murrow awards from the Radio-Television News Directors Association. She was also rewarded with a Missouri Broadcasters awards for best feature reporting and a National AFTRA American Scene award.
Bring the Zoo to Mizzou – these animals were donated and auctioned off to spend time with the kids that were receiving treatment at the Thompson Center.
The Executive Director at the Thompson Center, Dr. Stephen Kanne, took the stage. Under Dr. Kanne’s leadership, the Center has expanded its regional and national presence. Senator Michael Gibbons also appointed him to the Missouri Blue Ribbon Panel on Autism. Dr. Kanne also helped orchestrate the recent partnership with St. Louis’s own Mercy Autism Center.
Thank you to everyone who made this event so special for such an important foundation!
